While staying hydrated is important, giving water alone does not address the underlying issue of low blood sugar. Calling for emergency assistance is not the immediate priority when the individual is conscious and responsive, as they can safely consume sugar to manage their condition. Asking if they need help can be part of assessing their overall situation, but it does not directly treat hypoglycemia. Therefore, the best course of action in this situation is providing sugary foods or drinks.
